I am the son of WWII 381st Bomb Group veteran, Howard Wilson, and a retired clinical psychologist living in Kernersville, NC.  In my professional work as a licensed psychologist, I served as Clinical Faculty in the Pain Fellowship Program at Wake Forest University Medical School for thirty years and as a private practice psychologist specializing in chronic medical illness and chronic pain disorders for thirty-nine years.

My interest in the WWII airwar history began in the 1990s started with researching my late father’s service and I have been involved with the 381st Bomb Group Memorial Association for over twenty nine years.  I continue as Executive Director and Group Historian of the 381st BG Association and have led annual reunions, conducted historical presentations, website development, membership maintenance, and memorial commemorations here and abroad devoted to the group.  I especially enjoy doing research to assist 381st families learn about their veteran’s WWII service and maintain a large 381st historical archive for the association.

I have been a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society since 2007 and elected to the Board of Directors in 2021.  I became Secretary to the Board in 2022 and additionally have participated in multiple projects including the Joint Study Committee with the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth, Reunion Committee, Communications Committee, and By-Laws Revision Committee.  I have also researched and written an article about the use of Qualified Charitable Donations (QCDs) for the Society and helped foster the publication of the Honor Roll of 26,000 8th AF Casualties on the website.
